<description>Just one more thing for me to be troubled about.

I am deeply troubled by the apparent hypocrisy of Obama himself and the administration. He is flip flopping over to McCains way of thinking, making him a liar? Or is it politics as usual?

I am also gravely troubled by her cynicism about legislating from the bench as well as the statements about empathy, background (ethnicity) being factors in decisions. Im not sure if empathy or racism is part of the black robe.

Obama stated when he was running, he didnt want racism. Did he lie? or is this also politics as usual?

Im troubled about the out-of-control stimulus, threat of &#039;green&#039; taxes, universal health coverage without cost controls and to be taxed, lowered protection from terror threats, covert undermining of State rights, and the list goes on and on and on....... oh yeah, and what about the Guantanamo Bay prisoners? Rumor has it some were sent here to Texas. (sigh)

Yes ma&#039;am...Im troubled alright.

		<description>Kelly,

Thank you for your post. You make good points here and provide great perspective on this issue.

Also, I hope you are correct about Sotomayor turning out to be more moderate. However, I am admittedly troubled by her cynicism about legislating from the bench as well as the statements about empathy, background (ethnicity) being factors in decisions.

I really appreciate your comments, Kelly. Hope to hear more from you.

<description>Like you, I am deeply troubled by the apparent hypocrisy of the Obama administration - and perhaps Obama himself. With plenty to trouble me, I have to admit that Sotomayor isn&#039;t keeping me up at night. Sotomayor appears more centrist than I might have expected: her reversal percentage is actually lower than the norm, and she rejected more claims based on bias than she supported. Also, with her Latina roots, I suspect she is more empathetic with people respecting life than she is with people seeking abortions, in particular late-term abortions.

In short, she is likely a better option that what we&#039;ll get the next time that Obama nominates someone to the Supreme Court. Let&#039;s get past this distraction, and get back to the real problems: out-of-control stimulus, threat of &#039;green&#039; taxes, universal health coverage without cost controls, lowered protection from terror threats, covert undermining of State rights, and the list goes on.

My two cents ... and thanks for taking the time to read this.
